What Kinds of Volunteers Are Needed?
Firefighters: These firefighters are prepared to fight structural and wildland fires. They may be trained through the state as well as supplemented by department bi-weekly training sessions.

Driver/Operator/Engineer: These firefighters are responsible for getting the apparatus safely to and from the scene, as well as operating the truck's functions on-scene. A CDL (Commercial Driver's License) is required to drive the apparatus. The department will provide the training on the truck's functions

Apprentice Firefighters (Cadets): These firefighters provide support to firefighters by readying equipment and performing other functions outside of the hot zone at an emergency incident. Equipment and safety training will be provided by the department.

What Are the Requirements for Volunteers?
All volunteers for Level 1 and Driver/Operator must be at least 18 years of age, of good character, and physically be able to perform their duties. Individuals younger than 18, but older than 16 years of age are allowed to volunteer on a probationary basis as cadets.
